July Art Exchange: MATCH UPS

Hello, hello! My turn to run the exchange~ The June exchange deadline hasn't arrived yet (it's the 14th) so you're welcome to sign up for July even if you're still finishing for June. Just make sure it's done by the 14th!

The JULY exchange will run from July 10th to August 10th. Sign ups close on the 13th and match ups will be posted on the 14th. Confirmation of the match up is due by July 28th~

The feature for the last theme will be posted in a separate journal on the 14th <3

Be sure to read Making the Most of Monthly Trades BEFORE you sign up. By signing up I'm going to assume you've read it and I will pair you accordingly based on the guidelines I've mentioned there. Read so you don't end up disappointed!

IMPORTANT RULES:

1. If you sign up and confirm your trade, you are expected to submit a final piece of art by the exchange end date unless you contact us about it. Those who do not follow through (and have partners who followed through) will NOT be allowed to sign up for the next month's exchange.

2. If you are signing up with an anthro or animal OC, please provide a humanoid alternative for people who do not draw anthro or be open to making some sort of an art compromise with your partner. By signing up, I will be assuming you're okay with this possibility when I make the pairings. Again, this rule is in place because I'm running into the same problem of people only having anthro/animals and people not wanting to do anthro/animals so then I end up pairing the anthro/animal people with the same few willing partners over and over.

How it works:

Sign up by posting a comment with the following:

I will use a random generator to match you up with one of the other participants. They will draw your OC and you will draw theirs. On July 10th, I will post a list with all the match-ups; please look for your name to see who you're partnered with!

Confirmation: PLEASE READ:

Once you've found out who your partner is, contact them if they haven't already contacted you! Make sure that you two are going to go ahead with the trade. A lot of people forget about it even before the Exchange begins! Do not start drawing until you've gotten confirmation from them! At this time, you can also work out what type of trade it's going to be (ex. sketch vs. detailed, colored vs. uncolored)

After you two have sorted things out, either you or your partner (or both) need to contact the group and tell us that you're moving forward with the trade. You have two weeks maximum (until June 28th) to send in a confirmation If we don't get one by then, we will consider the trade cancelled. You two can still do a trade outside of the group, but then we won't be responsible if one of you doesn't do your part.

The Exchange:

Introducing a new concept to the monthly trades: Theme Challenge!
Something extra to help our artists try something new, stretch their imagination, or a challenge to see how said themes could fit a character! The point is it should be fun.~
-Partaking in the months’ theme is Optional. (Talk to who you are paired with when discussing and confirming your trade about taking part in the month’s theme.)
-They’ll be different every month. (But ‘good ones’ may be recycled and used again a few months down, if popular demand wants it.)
-Interpret theme as you see fit.
-You may suggest themes!
‘Sounds great, but besides ‘fun’, what’s in it for me?’ you ask? 
All who participate in the theme challenge will have their art featured in the following month’s trade journal.

Once you've finished your picture, submit it to the current month's Art Exchange folder and let your partner know through either comment or note that you're done!

You have until August 10th to hand in your piece.  Any later than that and you will get a penalty. The only exception is if you have contacted your partner and they have agreed to extend the deadline. Please let me know if this is the case!
